Miami Tropics Basketball is an active registered non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization #N04000010710 located in Miami, Florida. Over the last 20 years we have established ourselves as one of the most respected youth Travel Team programs in the USA. Participating in elite tournaments all over the states and internationally. Our passion for what we do and commitment to the youth motivated Art “Pilin” Alvarez, CEO, to develop the Miami Prep School concept. MPS is a post grad program for student-athletes who graduated from high school and are serious about living their educational and sports dreams. Our program gives them the exposure and opportunity to realize their dreams achieving an education, sports scholarship and I 20 orientation.

Our Miami Tropics Basketball program has orientated, mentored, educated and developed student-athletes (male and female) from all over the world to be better people, scholars and competitors. We have obtained over 200 basketball scholarships for young men and women to top division 1, 2, 3, JUCO and NAIA institutions. Many of our students have gone on to play in professional leagues in Europe, Caribbean, Latin and South America. Our exposure and contacts have been instrumental in providing these opportunities. Jose Juan Barea of the Dallas Mavericks, OJ Mayo and Guillermo Diaz are three alumnus who have played in the NBA. Other graduates of our system have been named Florida State Players of the Year (Carlos Rivera, Javi Gonzalez, Angel Rodriguez, Josue Soto, Felipe Haase, Eduardo Camacho and Diego Rivera). Our participation in elite NIKE and youth sponsored events has given us the opportunity to develop world class basketball players, coaches, trainers and administrators. Our mission is to continue supporting our youth and changing lives.
Our corporation is totally dedicated and committed as an organization to provide an optimistic future and enriching experience for the youth that we serve. To make this happen and continue to progress we need donations and funding from individuals, foundations and businesses. These contributions will allow us to pay for the following expenses that are essential and beneficial to our student-athletes. Housing expenses, meals, transportation to and from school and games, equipment, uniforms, materials and supplies, tournament and show case fees, home game referees, table officials, gym rental, food, security and education, books and supplies, etc. Operating expenses are also vital in maintaining the operation, providing resources and tools for the development of our students.
Our Miami Tropics Basketball program has been associated with youth, sports and education for 20 years. Our audience has been an integral part of our success because they support and follow us during the whole year. Our objectives and goals are to expose your brand, product and services to new markets. Improving your image in the public through social and local media and publicity at local games and community events. Together we will maintain the presence of your brand in the local and international community.
