Miami Prep defended their home floor and won in a battle of unbeaten as the defeated Miami Triple Threat Prep 83-70 in front of a few hundred fans at Dade Christian on Wednesday night.
Norchad Omeir paced the Tornadoes (5-0) with 25 points and 15 rebounds, while Petar Krivokapic added 17 points, which included three from beyond the arch.
Omeir had 11 points in the first half to lead Miami Prep to a 39-33 lead at the intermission.
Dedric Taylor Jr. contributed 13 points, while Alejandro Santiago and Cheikh Ndour each added nine points in the win.
”I feel we had an overall team effort,” said coach Thomas Roque. “Norchad came into his own and continued his hot start this season.”
Miami Prep has short rest as they hit the road this weekend to play All-American Jamboree in Apopka, before returning home next Wednesday in a rematch with Miami Triple Threat, which dropped to 4-1 and were led by Koby Issac with 17 points.
